Economics Undergraduate Advising
Concentration Advisors
Economics concentration advisors are graduate students in the Economics Department who have been trained to respond to the questions and concerns of undergraduate concentrators. The concentration advisors can sign your study card, drop/add forms, change of concentration forms, and so on. More important, they will help you understand your departmental requirements, discuss your academic interests, and offer advice on course choices. You may also discuss your future plans, such as graduate or professional school. Resident tutors CANNOT sign forms for the concentration and can only offer informal advice about concentration requirements and expectations. Please be sure to identify and make contact with your assigned econ advisor. You can certainly expect that he/she will make many attempts to contact you and meet with you over the course of your tenure in the department. Take advantage of this relationship! The Economics Department also offers advising to Applied Math students on the Econ track. Please see below for details about the Applied Math advising for 2008-09
Each economics concentrator has an assigned concentration advisor. Advisors are assigned by house; for example, all economics concentrators in Adams House have the same advisor. The concentration advisors for 2009-2010 are:
Eliot and Kirkland House: Justin Ho, Cabot and Winthrop House: Richard Townsend, Mather and Quincy House: James Burns, Dunster, Leverett and Dudley House: Naomi Hausman, Pforzheimer and Currier House : Danny Yagan, Adams and Lowell House: Jonathan Hall, Applied Math advisor: Danielle Li,
You may contact your advisor for help or information at any time.
In addition, all seven of the advisors hold walk-in advising office hours, open to all concentrators, at the Economics Undergraduate Office at Littauer 111 (Mon-Fri 10am-4pm). No appointment is needed. The walk-in advising office phone number is 495.3290. The Fall 2008 advisors' schedule follows:
