Professors Oliver Hart and John Campbell named as honorary degree recipients at the Université Paris-Dauphine

Professors Oliver Hart and John Campbell of Harvard’s Department of Economics were recently named as two of three honorary degree recipients for their professional work on Contract Theory and Finance, respectively, at the Université Paris-Dauphine, considered to be the best school for Economics and Finance in Paris.

The degree of Doctor Honoris Causa was awarded to both Professors Hart and Campbell at an official ceremony on May 12, 2009 at Dauphine.  Following the ceremony, they convened in a roundtable discussion on “Aggregation of preferences, corporate investment decisions, and financial markets.”

Oliver Hart is Andrew E. Furer Professor of Economics at Harvard University.

John Campbell is Morton L. and Carole S. and Carole S. Olshan Professor of Economics at Harvard University.
